Age = Wisdom

I have officially become a true gentleman for as of October 14, 2011, the LoneGentleman has turned 18. Per the usual things that come with this age, I faced a rather hard challenge that goes by the name "The Selective Service System". For those of you who do not know, The Selective Service System is a program for which a 18-year-old male must sign. So one may ask "what is so difficult about this?". As a response I would say, "You are signing up for the armed forces draft.". If America needed men for any time of difficulty, you can be called out. Now, do not get me wrong. I do not disagree with the SSS too much. It is any honor for anyone to go to service for one's country but it is a different story for some males like my self when we find out we can be drafted. The idea of one being called out to go to war with little warning is a tad scary. Even though no one has been drafted since 19  , that is still almost 40 years. I am just worried at the wind though as the future looks clear and a positive attitude keeps it looking clearer. I should note to anyone who may be getting ready for the age of 18 to not be too nervous about it like I was; we need not to worry about anything beyond our eyes. Thinking about my advice did bring up a nicer topic: age is not something to avoid. Just a week ago I was in stress over signing for the SSS and now I don't have an ounce of concern. This came about over time from living. I became wiser just by muddling over my thoughts for a period of time. That was a week now imagine years, decades. I am only 18 and I can not express in words how exciting it is to me to one day be 60 or 70. I can only dream of the amount of wisdom I will gain by then, the knowledge I will have collected, and the stories I will have to tell. To me, the equation of life should be

Life = wisdom(age) + experience x happiness
(life equals wisdom times age plus experience times happiness)

This is what I have learned over 18 years of life. The possiblies of age are endless. It's a gift that needs to be viewed better than the curse society sees it as. This is coming from a young adult, why cannot experienced adults see it the same? I believe that when you do, you will find how much more happiness will be within you and how much more money will be in your pocket after your "ageless creme budget" goes under.

Ta ta for now, see you again when the times call for it
